Our members recently attended a Dublin, TX ISD school board meeting; a member requested our presence at the meeting to show support for them. The member asked for support after finding out that the winner of the school board position was pushed into resigning from the position. After the resignation, the school board voted in the person who initially lost the race for that position and then made them the school board president. Our local members spoke up during the meeting confronting the school board for taking these actions and going directly against the will of the voters.
Even the simple act of speaking up and showing up in mass shows to the school board that the community is watching. Showing them that we are aware that these actions are going directly against the will of the voters is a way to try and further improve our communities.
